I am 55, I’ve been doing one thousand push ups a week for five years now. On Monday I do 50 push ups every hour, for ten hours that’s 500 pushups. Take a rest Tuesday, no push up. Wednesday I do 50 pushups every hour, for ten hours, that’s another 500 pushups. 1000 pushups every week.
